Program Description: DMH's 16th Annual Provider Forum on Restraint/Seclusion Prevention will focus on the topic of trauma-informed care. Dr. Fisher will present on the contributions trauma-informed care made towards enhancing services and culture change, as well as next steps for trauma-informed care.
Target audience: Leadership, administration and direct care staff from providers and DMH staff, as well as interagency state staff who work in child, adolescent & adult mental health settings. These settings include acute inpatient psychiatric facilities, child & adolescent state-wide intensive residential treatment programs, residential programs, & schools. Staff disciplines vary from program administrators, program directors, program managers, Chief Executive Officers, Chief Financial Officers, educators, social workers, nurses, psychologists, psychiatrists, mental health workers & occupational therapists. Interagency staff are also invited and includes administrators or policy planners from the Department of Children & Families, Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, Department of Youth Services, Department of Public Health, and the Department of Early Education and Care.
