Core Element Overview
A Family Partner helps caregivers learn about supports that may be available to them and their child through state agencies, insurance plans, school-based systems, and local community programs. The Family Partner uses their own experience to help caregivers understand eligibility requirements, apply for resources, and work successfully with service providers. A Family Partner also encourages and empowers caregivers to educate themselves on their rights and choices as service users.
