The Knowledge Center hosts an annual symposium for the children’s behavioral health policy, practice, advocacy, and research communities across the Commonwealth. The Symposium is held during the first week of May in conjunction with Children’s Mental Health week. The agenda consists of the Gailanne Reeh Lecture and panel discussions with local and national leaders.
This year's Gailanne Reeh lecture will be delivered by Joanne Nicholson, PhD. Dr. Nicholson is a Professor of Psychiatry at the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth, Lebanon, NH, and a clinical and research psychologist with over 25 years of experience working with parents with psychiatric disabilities and their families. She has an active program of research on parents with psychiatric disabilities, in partnership with people in recovery. She and her collaborators have developed rehabilitation education and training programs and materials for parents, integrating the current knowledge on parents with psychiatric disabilities and evaluating interventions for families, including the pilot Family Options intervention.
