About This Course

This course offers an introduction to Coordinated Specialty Care (CSC) and contains seven self-paced modules that will take about 30 – 45 minutes each to complete. CSC is an early intervention service for individuals experiencing early signs or a first episode of psychosis. Each module is co-presented by a coordinated specialty care CSC team member and a CSC participant with lived experience of psychosis.

Instructions

Welcome to the Basics of CSC for Early Psychosis serves as an introduction for this course, and it must be completed before progressing to the foundational learning modules (Foundational Module 1: What is Early Psychosis? & Foundational Module 2: Culturally Responsive Coordinated Specialty Care). After completing the foundational modules, we encourage you to proceed with the remaining five modules based on your preference.

At the end of the course, you will be able to:

  • Identify the signs and symptoms of early psychosis (EP).​
  • Describe how CSC delivers EP treatment using an evidence-based, recovery-oriented, person-centered approach to therapy.​
  • Describe the roles and responsibilities of a multidisciplinary CSC team.​
  • Recognize culturally responsive care within the CSC model, which acknowledges and honors diverse backgrounds and experiences.​
  • Appreciate the lived perspective of individuals who have experienced EP.
