The BIPOC Legacy Project
The Children’s Behavioral Health Knowledge Center is pleased to introduce our newest workforce initiative, BIPOC Early Career Development Learning Community: The BIPOC Legacy Project. The BIPOC Legacy Project is a professional mentorship and learning community designed specifically for Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) Mental Health Practitioners who wish to deepen their clinical practice with youth and families, advance their professional development, and receive support from peers and seasoned professionals.
Eligibility
- Identify as Black, Indigenous or Person of Color (BIPOC)
- Be an unlicensed Mental Health Practitioner
- Have less than 5 years post-graduate experience
- Employed with a youth and families-serving agency within community mental health/public settings
- Commitment to monthly virtual meetings and completion of assessments
Participants Will Learn:
- A process to select and develop expertise in specific therapeutic approaches of interest
- Professional mentoring skills
- Interventions to support BIPOC clients
- Best practices for working in community behavioral health settings
- Understanding and developing leadership within behavioral health organizations
- Skills for managing work stress and burnout
- Strategies to get the most out of supervision
- Strategies for addressing racism in the workplace
- Career development phases and processes; including credentialing, and becoming clinical supervisors
